Middlebury drivers want a pickup truck with a tough reputation. G. STONE MOTORS INC. can't think of a tougher midsize pickup truck than the new Ford Ranger.

Ford vehicles have a long history of being built tough, and the Ford Ranger is no exception. The Ranger underwent tests that were so intense, the engineers at Ford had to use robot drivers. Ford Ranger prototypes endured hundreds of hours of constant shaking to help the engineers identify suspension issues and weak points in the pickup's frame. Once the Ranger was deemed roadworthy, engineers put it to the ultimate test: hauling heavy loads uphill for hours on end in temperatures that soared past 100 degrees.

The new Ford Ranger features a six-crossmember steel frame, a 270-horsepower EcoBoost engine, and an A-arm independent suspension for class-exclusive power and capabilities. Drivers can haul a 1,860-pound payload or tow a 7,500-pound load.
