The Ford Mustang has always been known for its handling features. When it was first introduced in 1964, its main selling point was that it had a rear-mounted engine, which gave the car an advantage on winding roads. Over the years, many different models have come out with their own special handling features. Here are five of them:
1) The 1965 model could handle turns at high speeds because of the introduction of an available T-type handlebar limited slip differential.
2) The front suspension was updated in 1968 for better handling ability, including increasing caster (the angle between two pivoting lines).
3) 1970 brought about the Boss 302's front and rear stabilizer bars which helped minimize body roll in tight corners.
4) Stiffer anti-roll bars were added in 1979.
5) The 1995 Cobra R model was given a specially tuned suspension, power rack and pinion steering, front coil springs with matching shocks, special Goodyear tires designed specifically for it, and four wheel vented disc brake system that included an anti-lock braking system (ABS).
